National S'mores Day celebrates this tasty summer treat. It's appropriately placed in August...campfire prime time. But, don't limit your consumption of S'ores to the campfire. They are popular with kids year round, and can be baked in the oven or microwave.
The origin of S'mores dates back to the 1920's. It's believed the recipe was created by the Campfire Girls. Girl Scouts soon discovered it, and foundit to be choclatey delicious. Before ling, S'mores becamea campfire staple for everyone. S'more folklore suggests that S'mores got its name right by the campfire. After eating one, young kids chanted "gimme some more!"
While much is written about National S'mores Day, our research has been unable to verify that this is an officially recognized national day (which requires an act of Congress). Don't let that stop you from celebrating this day with a few S'mores.

Our Guest Designer for this week is Bunny:
Hey, y’all. First, let me say that it is an honor to be a guest designer. I live in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. I’m married, have children, grandchildren and Woolfie the Bear. He’s a stuffed teddy bear and he knows he’s not real. I've been card making for a few years but I am new to the blog world. I'm computer challenged and it took a lot of people to help me set up a blog. Please stop by and visit for a little while. http://bunnyscards.blogspot.com
Bunny chose National Dyngus Day! Here is a little bit about it:

12th April - Big Wind Day
Bunny chose National Dyngus Day! Here is a little bit about it:
What is Dyngus Day? Dyngus Day, also called Easter Monday, is a tradition celebrated by the Polish. I read up on this and can’t believe how popular it is in Buffalo, New York. Dyngus means worthy, proper or suitable. It is such a fun way for the men to flirt with women. Men typically pour, sprinkle or if they are very bold, soak the women with water to attract them. On Easter Tuesday, the women get to return the water or in some instances I’ve read that they can throw crockery at the men. Gently of course! As you can see from my card, this guy is VERY bold.

February 11th is Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Day. It is in recognition that everyone spills a little milk now and then. It's a day to be optimistic, think positive, look on the bright side, and to find something good in everything that happens.

National S'mores Day
When: Always on August 10th
S'mores are a favorite campsite treat for young and old kids. If you're at a campfire, chances are, there's S'mores. Sticky and gooey, and loaded with sugar and carbs, S'mores are nothing short of delicious. Who was the first person to create S'mores? We don't know. But, we're all sure glad they did!National S'mores Day celebrates this tasty summer treat. It's appropriately placed in August...campfire prime time. A day dedicated to raising awareness of how unhealthy dieting can be harmful, or respecting and accepting body types, and promoting healthy eating rather than dieting. No Diet Day aims to help to teach people to have a healthy relationship with food, and to ditch restrictive diets and the harmful results they often have, such as anorexia and body-type perceptions in the media.
Have fun with this challenge, we are all looking forward to visiting your blogs.
Please stop by the DT blogs and leave them a crafty hug they all work really hard.
Have a great day Sheryl and the IWDT.
