17th Dec - 7th Jan 18 = celebrate 10 years of Incy Wincy Designs Challenge

Hello everyone :)

This is a wonderful moment in time, because Incy Wincy Designs Challenge was started roughly 10 years ago (I deleted some of the first posts to save space DRRRR)

For those who probably don't know the story - myself and a few others decided to start a charity here in South Australia (Incy Wincy Children's Charities), to help children of low income families.

My "thing" was art and craft and I used to make many things to sell on our stalls.

I started a blog a year or so before and I was doing challenges. I always wanted to be on a DT but didnt have the courage or the expensive crafting tools that a lot of other crafters had.... so I never tried as I didn't think I stood a chance.

Then there was an idea....   Combine my love of crafting, , be on a DT and the most IMPORTANT - promote the charity and have a digi shop to make some extra money for the charity.

We started small, prizes were from my own stash.  Chris Sather from Canada offered to help and started to organise sponsors etc and it slowly grew from there. Nikki won a challenge and was asked to be a GD - she has never left.....  You never hear much from Nikki, but she is always there for support and help with the technical stuff.

We changed the name of the charity a few years later, and kept running stalls, fundraising dinners etc, all going towards raising money for the local Kindergarten to buy things for their Sensory garden - my favourite was the wooden boat.

Life got a bit harder, and I took a step back for a few years, Chris and Nikki took the reins and made Incy a strong challenge, which seems to be still loved by many.

Sadly, we had to close the charity. But it was one of the best things I have ever done in my life. When I think back, I think it was the only time I felt a completely whole person.

I came back full time about 3 years ago, Chris had to move on, as she had her share of hard times. I appreciate all she had done to keep it afloat.

We have had so many wonderful designers over the years, many have stayed for a long time. Some of them have gone on to bigger and better things, it is wonderful to watch them grow. Also to our amazing sponsors, I truly appreciate each and every one of you!!!

I have some ideas for Incy in the new year - I wont mention in case they don't eventuate (life has a habit of sending me on a different path than planned) but if it works it should be good.

Thank you to all our friends who come and play with us, I hope you enjoy your time here with us. Such beautiful creations are linked with us.

It is only fitting that the sponsor for our Anniversary shall be Nikki from Limited Runs Digital Stamps (link below) She has always been a wonderful supporter and has got me out of many holes, when sponsors haven't been able to fulfill their spots.

As this is the last challenge of 2018, I would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas, or however you wish to celebrate.  A FANTASTIC New Year and we look forward to seeing you in 2019. We will be back on 7th January.

Hugs, Heather

Winners from last challenge are chosen by Random.Org.
Before I announce the winners, I want to let all the participants know that we have a little 'oops!' in our last post. Two Inlinkz were accidentally added to the post. It was too late when it was discovered. Many have added their names and out DTs also have commented. So rather than deleting one of the Inlinkz, we just continued on with it being aware that there are two groups to look into. You might ask how will Random.Org work on choosing the winner if there are two of some numbers. Being the author of this post, I re-assigned the second group with a new number based on the last number entry on the first group. I hope that makes sense. If not, just be assured that both groups have an equal opportunity winning.
